WHY DO I WANT TO DO THIS?

Goal:
Enhance the course for
Husky Cross Country

Scouts must raise the funds to cover the cost of an Eagle Project. The work of building and installing the course signs will be completed by Scouts, community members, friends, and family who are willing to donate their time to do the manual labor.

This website will explain the project, the fundraising goals, the timeline, and the many ways you can help make this dream a reality.

WHY "RUN {WITH THE} DAWGS"?

Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is a goal I've worked toward since I joined Cub Scouts in first grade. When it came time to propose an Eagle Project, I knew I didn't want something generic. I wanted to give back to an organization that was personal to me. Somewhere that helped define who I am because this is my team. My family.

That's when the idea of enhancing the Hamilton Heights cross country course came to mind. This project means much more then some sign posts in the ground. It represents perseverance, finishing what you start, putting one foot in front of the other and pushing through the mental and physical challenges until you reach your goal. Because it's not about coming in first. It's about the pride that comes from finishing what you start. That's why this has become my "Run {With The} Dawgs" Eagle Project benefiting the dedicated kids and coaches of the HHMS & HHHS cross country teams who run in the heat and sun, the wind and cold. We run for personal goals and team goals. We run as a community. We push and pull each other through the hard times and celebrate the victories. Together, WE ARE HUSKIES.

ABOUT EAGLE PROJECTS

The Eagle Scout Service Project, or simply Eagle Project, is the opportunity for a Boy Scout in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community. The expectation of the project is to give the Scout an opportunity to “plan, develop, and give leadership to others,” as noted in the official requirement. Eagle Scout projects are evaluated on the benefit to the organization being served and on the leadership provided by the candidate. There must also be evidence of organized planning and development.
